Kenton Control Freak Live
"I love to fiddle with knobs, sliders, buttons, and such. I think most of us do, don’t we? So when it comes to mixing music with a mouse or adjusting synth parameters with menus on a tiny LCD screen, the thrill just isn’t there. Luckily, there are quite a few inventive music manufacturers on the scene who know about a musician’s urge to tweak. Kenton is one of them. And their Control Freak Live can bring the virtual parameters of your sequencer or synth out of the ether and into your fiddling little fingers." Click here to read my review of the CF Live.

PlayPro Interactive Guitar 2.5

It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get a good sound out of the guitar, but that doesn’t mean the learning process has to be boring or complicated. With the right instruction, learning how to play the guitar can be fun and intuitive. If you want to learn to play the guitar, but are too afraid the task may be out of your reach, the people at PlayPro may have an answer for you with their Interactive Guitar product." The Randomize function has been improved and the FM7 is equipped with a new Pitchbend mode. irock! 300W Wireless Music Adapter
"My Kia Rio is a very economical car. As such, it only came with the basics including a lowly FM stereo radio with cassette player. Well, as far as I’m concerned, cassette is dead. I use a portable MP3 player to listen to my tunes. But what if I want to listen to my tunes in the car? Sure, I could record them onto cassette and play them that way, but I don’t have time for that. This is where the irock! 300W from First International Digital comes into play (no pun intended)." Click here to read my write-up over at NewTechReview.

Small Rooms - Low Frequency Control
"It is no surprise that industry figures show that there might be over 100,000 'home / project' studios in existence today. This number will grow. In the last 10 years, an audio revolution has occurred, which allows 'home studios' to rival the sounds of pro level studios. Songwriters, musicians and producers still listen to music in indoor environments and depend on some order of true acoustic response from a monitoring system in order to discern content and production values." Native Instruments FM7
"In 1983 when the DX7 synthesizer from Yamaha hit the market, FM (Frequency Modulation) synthesis became all the rage among musicians. It even got to a point where you could actually recognize DX7 sounds within many of the songs on the radio. As the popularity of FM synthesis grew, it spawned an entire line of FM-based synthesizers including the DX100, TX802, TX81Z, and more. Eventually, the novelty of FM synthesis wore off and it got buried in the entourage of modern synthesis methods and sampling. But now with the release of the new FM7 software synthesizer from Native Instruments, FM synthesis is becoming popular again." Click here to read the entire review.
