Acoustica Releases Next Generation Mixcraft 9Acoustica has announced the release of Mixcraft 9, described as "a true labor of love, built for musicians, by musicians".

Acoustica says "From its slick, modern interface to its powerful new effects, instruments, and features, we've upgraded nearly every aspect of Mixcraft, with new visuals, new sounds, and more power than ever."

Improvements Everywhere. The first thing you'll notice is Mixcraft 9's modern look. The transport and details panels are all individually undockable and can be placed anywhere around your desktop. The transport can be moved to the top of the software if desired, and the controls can be left-justified, rightjustified, or centered.

New Effects. Mixcraft 9 is loaded with new effects from ToneBoosters. Great sounding reverb, flexible multi-effects, useful parametric equalizer, compressors and limiters, an effective de-esser, and a whole lot more. Plus, Pro Studio users will find the TB FlX and TB FlX4 multiband EQ/compressors and the new TB Dither plug-in to be useful tools for mastering.

Automation is tremendously enhanced in Mixcraft 9. In addition to curved automation, Acoustica has added pitch automation to every audio clip and a master tempo envelope for smooth tempo ramps. All effect and virtual instrument parameters are now controllable by tempo-synced LFOs for musical and rhythmic effects.

The new mixer has received a major upgrade in Mixcraft 9, with the addition of a number of new panels. The new Gain, Preamp, Compressor, Parametric Equalizer, Spectrum Analyzer, and Oscilloscope mixer panels add utility to an already powerful mixing environment.

MIDI users will find a lot to love. There are improvements to the piano roll, including new tools for drawing MIDI controller automation. The new step recording feature enables rapid creation of mono and polyphonic patterns.

The new Acoustica Vocoder effect is an 11-band analog-style vocoder based on classic hardware. DAW setup of vocoders has traditionally been challenging, but Mixcraft's new Vocoder Tracks automatically configure all instruments, effects, and routing for instant use.

Finally, the addition of Voltage Modular Ignite to Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio delivers the raw sonic strength and flexibility of a massive modular synthesizer to the home recording environment.

Users can try a free 14-day version, or buy one of two editions of Mixcraft, Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio (List $199 / MAP $149) and Mixcraft 9 Recording Studio (List $99 / MAP $75).
