Acon Digital Media GmbH has released version 5 of the popular audio and mastering solution Acoustica. The new version contains several major improvements in the audio editing and CD project management. The redesigned graphical user interface improves the workflow in larger projects and new K-System level meters help producers maintain a consistent output level while preserving appropriate dynamic range. An integrated convolution reverb makes it possible to simulate the reverberation of physical or virtual spaces based on pre-recorded impulse responses. The updated offline analysis tools allow the selection of frequency and amplitude ranges. Furthermore, the spectrum analysis now supports logarithmic frequency scales and can show the average spectrum over a large time period.
In addition, version 5 supports new file formats such as FLAC files and AAC files (MPEG-4 Audio). Acoustica 5 is available in two editions, a standard edition priced at € 29.90 and a premium edition for € 89.90. Both versions are now available for purchase as electronic downloads from the manufacturers online shop: www.acondigital.com/us_shop.html.
Acoustica Premium Edition 5 extends the standard edition with the seamlessly integrated plug-in suites Studio Clean (VST, DirectX), Studio Time (DirectX) and Studio Necessities (VST, DirectX). In addition, the noise reduction has been further improved and a new adaptive mode constantly updates the noise profile to match changes in the signal noise. A new test signal generator for white, pink and brown noise, as well as for sine tones and frequency sweeps is also available. The dynamic processor now has an optional RMS mode. Support for WAV64 files allows sound projects well over 4 GB to be edited.
