First International Digital, Inc. (FID), maker of the popular irock!(R), Beamit(TM) and MusiCase(TM) series of digital audio devices and iPod(R) accessories, introduced its irock! 5.1 Theater Sound(TM) USB Headphones (Model 1051).
PC and Mac compatible, the headphones feature six speakers, each in an individual sound chamber, which provide users with big-screen, virtual surround sound for portable home theater and PC gaming applications.
The lightweight, collapsible headphones measure 5.1 x 5.1 x 3.2 inches and plug into the PC or Mac via the USB (2.0) port. No sound card is required. Included PC software enables users to adjust volume for each speaker and select from simulated effects, including Jazz, Rock, Rap, Dance and Vocal. Control for master volume, subwoofer effects, and the mute function is also supported.
