ART HD Series Equalizers - HD131, HD215, and HD231

New from Applied Research and Technology is the new HD Series of professional Equalizers. The HD Series filter sets utilize precision 1% resistors and all active gain elements are ultra low noise and low distortion resulting in a total dynamic range specification of >=120dB for the HD-215 and >=117dB for the HD-131/231. Rugged construction and solid audio performance make these equalizers well suited for touring live-sound systems as well as for fixed installations where their detachable Euroblock interface connectors come in handy.

The HD Series includes the following equalizers:

* HD-131 -- Single 31-Band Graphic EQ
* HD-215 -- Dual 15-Band Graphic EQ
* HD-231 -- Dual 31-Band Graphic EQ

Each individual filter band in an HD Series equalizer has a precision center frequency and constant Q response which is narrow enough to prevent unnecessary interaction between filters, yet wide enough to create the exact natural sounding audio response that the user requires. These equalizers utilize 20mm oil-damped precision slide potentiometers.

The HD Series equalizers incorporate independent variable Hi Pass (low cut) and Low Pass (high cut) filters. The Hi Pass filter is useful for the reduction of power robbing, sometimes destructive low frequency rumble, as well as wind noise, and AC hum. Having separate and variable precision control for both the Hi Pass and Low Pass filters allow the user to custom tailor the audio signal to perfection. Many equalizers on the market only offer shelving switches which have a fixed frequency point. Others do not have separate filtering for both high and low frequencies.

The HD SERIES equalizers feature automatic relay bypass of audio, an essential function if power to the unit is lost. They also utilize a variable input level control, clip level indicator, and selectable AC line voltage. Additional features include RFI filtering, selectable Scale Switching - (higher slider resolution at +/-6dB - or normal slider resolution at +/-12dB), and active balanced input/output XLR and Euroblock connectors. A Bypass switch allows for direct comparison between the equalized and non-equalized signal for each channel.

The HD Series (HD131, HD215, HD231) will be available at music specialty stores Worldwide in August 2005. MSRP on the HD Series: HD131: $219, HD215: $219, HD231: $359
