Rhino Records celebrates the artistry of 11-time Grammy winner and Billboard Century Award recipient Emmylou Harris with the release of Heartaches And Highways: The Very Best of Emmylou Harris. Beginning with 1974’s “Love Hurts” with Gram Parsons and ending with a brand-new recording of Randy Sharp’s “The Connection,” the album features 20 songs, spanning more than three decades of Harris’ acclaimed catalog. Heartaches And Highways: The Very Best of Emmylou Harris is the most comprehensive single-disc overview of Harris' career to date.

Produced by Emmylou Harris and Rhino’s James Austin, the collection includes the classic songs “If I Could Only Win Your Love,” “The Lovin’ You Feelin’ Again” with Roy Orbison, “Two More Bottles of Wine,” “(Lost His Love) On Our Last Date” and “To Know Him Is To Love Him” with Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt.

Harris has made great contributions as a vocalist, songwriter and influential figure with her work. She has brought country and roots music to a new level of prominence and respect. Harris has recorded more than 20 albums and has lent her talents to fellow artists on countless records. Recently, Harris performed as a guest vocalist on Bright Eyes’ I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Elvis Costello’s latest album The Delivery Man.

Entertainment Weekly, among many others, praised Harris’ most recent album, Stumble Into Grace (Nonesuch): “With themes like loss and longing, Grace hits blue notes but rarely stumbles…The results are lovely, heartbreaking, and just diffident enough to get perspective on this bittersweet old world.”

The New York Times says of Harris’ voice, “Behind the air of fragility is the serene confidence of a singer who knows the power of reticence to draw a listener closer. Ms. Harris’s voice inhabits her songs like a wraith, intangible but omnipresent.” Harris will perform “Love Hurts” with Elvis Costello on the Late Show with David Letterman on July 21 and tour this summer and fall.
