"Digital Video Hacks" (Joshua Paul, O'Reilly, US $29.95) is a collection of 100 unique tips, techniques, and tools for every aspect of digital video production--planning, lighting, editing, adding sound, and special effects, to final export and distribution. "This book is written to provide everyone, from beginners to professionals, with a new way of perceiving and working through the many phases of digital video," comments author Joshua Paul. "By using the techniques in this book, readers will successfully complete projects while avoiding common, costly mistakes." That is no more apparent than in the book's first hack in the chapter on preparation.
