A mix of progressive keyboard driven rock with just a slight touch of pop...Solid production and musicianship.

The Prisoner, by Sonic Music, is energetic progressive rock in the vein of Genesis, Yes, & Gentle Giant with a touch of pop sensibility. Strong, confident vocals and rich keyboard textures on top of driving rhythms. Musical virtuousity and mature, memorable compositions are just a few of The Prisoner's strengths.

Fans of classic progressive music will enjoy standout tracks like I'm Falling Down, Nothing That You Said, The Unknown Lover, and the adventurous title song. The music on The Prisoner is keyboard driven and packed with infectious melodies. Fresh and contemporary while respectful of its roots, The Prisoner holds up well to repeated spins on the CD player!

Keyboard Magazine "Unsigned Artist Of The Month" August 2006
Reviewer: Michael Gallant - Keyboard Magazine
Composed, performed, and produced by Connecticut piano tuner Larry Benigno, The Prisoner is an epic, old-school prog rock treat. Soaring, virtuosic synth work is everywhere on this disc, courtesy of Larry’s Minimoog, MooG Sonic Six, and Prophet-5. Unlike certain proggers, though, the man behind Sonic Music always plays in service of the song, choosing tasteful licks and atmospherics over gratuitous wankage. Such musical maturity is also readily apparent in Larry’s songwriting and harmonic choices: Sophisticated chord progressions, unexpected meter changes, and rich vocal harmonies all propel his catchy compositions with energy and enthusiasm. Note to Yes: Next time on tour, hire Sonic Music as your opener.
