I am making music for my friend's short film. In that, the voices of the characters where recorded by dubbing process in a separate studio. The voices recorded were of unequal volumes...some low and some high....i want to even out all the vocal tracks....how to do this in Sonar???

I usually use a combination of envelopes and also "process audio-gain" where I boost (or cut) selected clips to better match them.
After getting them all in the ballpark, I might compress or limit the loudest ones, if I can without changing them too much - ie where they sound processed.
I don't use normalize ...ever. Maybe someone has....

Yep, you can add a compressor effect to the track (or individual clips) or you can use a track envelope (or clip envelopes) to manipulate the volume manually.

hey mate:i would suggest doing this in another program.ie:i use and love nero 7 wave editor--------or steinberg wave lab-----there are many programs to accomplish what ya need.once ya get them where you are happy save them as a file sonar sees!!!!!!!!!than bring them into sonar and the rest will be history.
