I just purchased a new Digitech RP1000, and although it has built in interface, was wondering how to make all this work. The problem is, I already have a Saffire 6 USB, which has my MIDI keyboard, and monitors hooked up to it. Can I just run guitar into RP1000, and then from there into Saffire 6, instead of amp? Not sure what too do, and was hoping someone has similar set-up. Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Never used the Digitech or Saffire, but if the RP1000 has a line output and the Saffire has a line input, then you should be able to connect them.

That's what I thought, it would like hooking up to amp, or powered speakers, it even has a Amp/Mixer switch on that output. What was confusing me, is that the RP1000, has USB output, and built in interface , 24-bit/44.1kHz Resolution. Comes with Cubebase LE4, so I know I can record from it, and it sounds pretty good on videos I've seen.
Would just like to have one set-up, since everything is already running through my Saffire now, and the big kicker is no MIDI on the RP, so would have to switch stuff around to use VSTs and my MPK25.
Sorry so long, have a request in at Digitech, may just give them a call, Thanks Scott as always!

Scott's right about just patching a line out from the RP to your Saffire box, and that's the easiest way to do it IMO. And of course that's one of the benefits from using the amp sim's on the RP. Is it the same as mic'ing an amp?...not at all, but you may not have a need for the sound of a mic'd amp. Depends on the music you're recording.
