i open tts-1 and when i click it's preview i hear demo than i open piano roll and no sound when i click piano roll keys.what do i need to check off?

Did you insert the synth using the Insert > Soft Synths menu?

And if so, what settings did you use in the dialog box?

i use synth icon

And if so, what settings did you use in the dialog box?

but sometimes piano roll sounds and times it doesn't sound.how to adjust this?

Yes, you always need a MIDI track and an audio track for each synth you want to use because the synth needs MIDI input and audio output in order to work.

The Insert Soft Synth dialog box can take care of everything automatically. Just choose Insert > Soft Synths > [the synth you want to use].

Then in the dialog box, choose your options. The easiest thing to do is using the Simple Instrument Track option.
