That would be a nice incentive. Cakewalk always adds some cool tools to add value to an already powerful app. |
Love to make that music,as well I love to tweak,Make my own sample sets |

| Gosh Scott, maybe they wrote the book without you? Surprise, Sonar 7 Power is selling on Amazon. Scott's like, what the frick? Well, we know that's ain't going to happen. Funny how people don't both to ask the source. Cakewalk has a forum where they have somebody declaring that your Sonar 7 Power book is already written and is going to be given away free as a promotion. |

| I'd be more than happy to see some longer periods develop between DAW's version upgrades. Not only would it be better for everyone, but it would give you more time to write each new version's book. I don't see a need for a yearly new version of Cakewalk. How about every 2 1/2 years. Now that would make sense. NI's Komplete 5 is a total bust as far as I'm concerned. They can't even come up with Reaktor 6? And then they take out two great effects. It's nuts. |

| I agree with the 2 year plan. In fact, I personally don't plan to upgrade my S6PE until 8 comes out and then I'll try to catch the cheap upgrade path. I'll probably do that from now on unless there's some compelling reason I need to add the odd ones in. |

| It's rumor no more, got the email tonight, Sonar 7 is shipping and available to previous users at discounted upgrade prices. The usual $179 for S6PE to S7PE. Do I need to, no, will I, Probably. I'm a sucker for the new features whether I use them all or not. At least now I am using it to produce something on a regular basis so it may be worth the cost to me. |

Every so often, Cakewalk tosses about an offer intended to pick up all those people that haven't jumped at the upgrades for a number of cycles. So I'm waiting for them to give an offer that says X amount discounted for any previous version. They did that a while ago around 3, 4, or 5. I can't recall which version it was. Their marketing folks know that there are some cheap holdouts that they can snare with a deal like that, if the discount yields a large jump in versions. I sure hope I someday learn how to be a cheap holdout.
P.S. - Daggonit, darn, rats, etc.! Look at the features in Sonar 7. Man, now this is an upgrade. I hate you Cakewalk, I just hate you. Finally, Cubase-style external hardware integration in Sonar. I might be the last holdout on planet earth, but I still love my hardware synths and effects. Of course, there's a ton more in this version offered. |
