Hi guys,

Iím looking into some different software applications, both offline (windows) and online (web), and I just wanted to know what YOU think are essential tools / features for managing a band, and taking them to the next level? Any help / suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt

MS Excel, actually I was thinking of getting into this myself. Why I think Excel would be good is because it's fully customizable and has auto calculating for accountancy purposes, also great for keeping contact list and other details such as schedules for meetings and gigs.

Other apps such as MS Money is OK! Easier to use but I don't think it's as customizable compared to Excel.

PC: Abit Pro35. CPU: Quad 3.0. Ram: 2.Gig. H/Drives: 2x Seagates (C:Apps, D:Audio). Audio/Midi Interface: Edirol FA-66. DAW: SONAR. VSTi: SonikSynth 2.1, SampleTank.2.5.XL. KitCore Deluxe. Addictive Drums. VST: Ozone.3, Ozone.4, Voxengo, Kjaerhus, Melodyne, T-RackS

There are quite a few packages out there, but I've never used any of them...

Those aren't too bad! Mostly ideal for contacts and scheduling.

Excel and the Indie Bible (Book) would be a good combo. IMO Indie Bible covers a lot, including contacts and info for radio stations, networks, promotion, labels and just about everything to do with the music business. For Australians there's Immedia Music Industry Directory (Founder/Publicist: Phil Trip)
