Spitfire Audio proudly announces the release of Château Piano, a timeless virtual instrument, sampled from the iconic 1901 Steinway B Grand Piano housed in the legendary Château d'Hérouville. This historic French studio is where artists such as Elton John, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac and The Bee Gees recorded era-defining music, and now Spitfire Audio offers composers a chance to harness the instantly recognisable, characterful sound and soul of those seminal recordings for their own scores.
Built in 1740, located 30km north of Paris, the Chateau was left abandoned for 30 years until four French friends with music industry experience teamed up to purchase and restore the building, studios and piano to their former glory, with the piano and recording space recently restored by piano technician Bastien Herbin, and recorded in the ‘George Sand’ live room at Château d’Hérouville. “Château Piano” captures not only the sound of the instrument, but the rich atmosphere of a space that shaped the sound of generations.
