No I haven't Greg but I'm keeping a watchful eye on the Acid and Crossfade forum as well as others.
I was never a Demo guy anyway but even more so with my shiny new rig that is just a treat every time I fire it up.
What I generally do is keep the feelers out and if an app. is a must-have, I go for it after an update or two.
In general, I like what I see but in this case I may wait until the next version when (I hope) Acid 8 has ALL Vegas' audio editing features and the apparent MIDI functionality it now has.
I don't want to mess up all my Sony apps. (Vegas + DVD 5, Vegas + DVD 4, Sound Forge 7, Sound Forge 5, Acid Pro 5, Acid Pro 4, Noise Reduction 2.0, Acoustic Mirror) with a demo of Acid as they all work perfecty.
Until then I'm good with Vegas for audio synched to Sonar 2.2XL for MIDI.
Then there's also Reaper... it does both audio and MIDI and it follows the Vegas paradigm for the most part and is free at this point.
The MIDI is crude at the moment as Justin is just now working on the MIDI side but for heavens sake folks, get it for free before version 1 (not free).
The audio is very powerful and no app. has the routing capabilities. If I didn't already have Vegas and Sonar for... what? Something like $1000 now, I could use Reaper and never have spent that money.
It's less than 1 MB also! Justing listens to requests like no-one else. There are several updates/day at times and all (since the beginning) new installs have been flawless for me. He's up to 940 now.
