So sorry to hear about Figaro. Recently lost my family pet, so I know what you are going through. But, at least you gave him a great life , and in the end, he knew that and left this world with a safe, comfortable feeling, which is more than any of us have the right to ask. We'll all remember him when we crack the next sonar book for help, so he'll be immortalized
Hi Scott, I'm very sorry for your loss of Figaro. My own Kasim (named after Todd rundgren's bass player) died after 18 years with us...the loss of our boy was too much. Fans that celebrate my birthday every year at my gigs showed up with two 8 week old brothers that are siamese. The brothers Krupa and Django (after the drummer and guitarist) are now 3 years old and have done a lot to ease the pain and void left by Kasim. Kaz is buried with a nice pewter grave marker in back of our Lanai here in Florida will always be with us. Stay strong and thanks for all your Incredible work in the areas of gear. You're the best. David Moore
Hello, Scott! My name is Maria. I'm from Russia.
I've known about your cat from your book which we got. I've read the aknowledgments to your friends and...Figaro. I was so surprised and interested in it. Then I've visited your web-site...and this discussion...so I'm here and I'm really sorry for your loss. I think your cat and you were the best friends. That was great!
I had 2 parrots But they died 6 years ago.It was a couple. Their names were Romochka and Mashen`ka. They were in love with each other.
I miss them so much. So do my parents.
Take my condolences.
With solid respect and admiration, Maria
Wow! All the way from Russia? Thanks so much for your kind words! And thank you also for reading my book. I had no idea my books were available over in Russia. That's wonderful!
And I think you speak English very well.
I'm sorry to hear about your parrots. They sound like they were wonderful companions.
Well, it's great to have you here and thanks so much for visiting the site!
My wife and I have 5 cats. They are our kids. We love them so much!
We have both had the experience of losing our beloved pets in the past, and sympathize with your loss. One of our babies is 16 years old now, and although he seems to be in perfect health we are aware of his age and so are treasuring each day with him.
Thanks, Neil! And thanks again to Everyone for sharing your wonderful stories and all your support.
I promised I would post some pictures of the memorial I put together for Figaro. You can see them below. The writing on the stone reads as follows: "Figgy, thank you for your friendship and for teaching me so much about love, caring, and how to live life. I will love you forever! Love, Scott"
Hey scott I was just thinking about you the other night because I, have adopted a wild cat. A female calico. she started comming out of the woods to feed off my left over chicken off the grill that I throw in the yard for birds and stuff to eat. this cat. Eventually this cat made friends with my collie(yeah, strange) and now it lives with us and even gos for walks with us at night down the trail for chester(my collie) to pee and doodoo. I thought what a wonderful cat ,so beautiful. then i thought of you and how bad it must be to lose you cat. Again I'm sorry and feel for you my friend.
That's very cool... that cat must have been sent to you to watch over your family. He/she must be a very special cat since it came into your lives that way.
Yeah, I still miss Figaro a lot, but I know I'll get to see him again someday.
Thanks so much for your kind words. I appreciate it.
Scott
PS. I'm going to move these messages over to the Figaro topic.
Animals express love so unconditionally its so hard when they go.
I hope you find love again Scott, I'm sure Figaro loved you as much as you loved him (he looked like a very wise and noble creature) and there are always other 'little friends' that need looking after in the world.
My 'Macey Toes' says hello and she says ty for being a cat friend.
