Hi,

How do I get Sonar4 PE to start with a blank template (like my PA9 used to)? The way it starts now is with 2 audio, 2 midi and some send busses. I'd prefer a completly blank project to start with.

thanks..

when you go...
   File --> New,
you get a list of about 4 dozen choices. One of the choices is... 'Blank (no tracks or buses)'

These choices are actually all the '.CWT' files in the folder... C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\SONAR 4 Producer Edition\Sample Content

There is actually a Cakewalk Template called 'Blank (no tracks or buses).cwt'
If you cant see anything like this when u go File New, then you need to edit the pointer to the Templates Folder, from within Global Project options.

Also,
The default template that is loaded when you start is called the Normal.cwt so if you modify/save this one like they said above you will automatically get whatever you saved in that template whenever you start Sonar. Just adding on to what everyone else said.

One more thing with the templates ,I load in all the effects as well so they are all there when I start a new project.Saves a heap of time.Most of my projects use the same template.

Yep, templates can be a very powerful time saver. Check out my articles Sequencer Techniques (Part 1) and Sequencer Techniques (Part 2) for some more template ideas.

Best regards,
Scott
