I use SONAR 8.5 and there is a midi file for wich the channel 10 for the drums is not audible. When I close this file and open an other one for wich the channel 10 (drums) was working before, his channel 10 is not audible anymore. It seems that the first file has muted the channel 10. When I close Sonar and re-open it with the second file, the channel 10 is working. Could you tell me what's the problem? I need your help! Thank you so much for your collaboration. Georges
Hmmm... I'm not sure, but you need to check the MIDI tracks to see if there are any volume messages for channel 10. Open each MIDI track in the Event List view and check for MIDI volume messages.
I'm really not sure. It could be a corrupt project file. That happens sometimes.
But since the problem is only with that one MIDI file, you'll just have to avoid it. Or you could try copying and pasting the tracks to a new project file.
Or if it's a plain MIDI file, you could try loading it and saving it again as a new MIDI file with a different name.
I'm not sure what that one MIDI file is doing to your system, but I would avoid it, if possible.
This is only happening with the one file, correct?
Yes, this problem occurs only with that file. Do you think that I could try to use Cakewalk TTS-1 synth? Presently, I use Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth.
That's great news. Glad you got it working with the TTS-1.
I really don't know why it's not working with the GS, but the GS isn't a very good synth anyway, so I would recommend that you avoid it and use the TTS-1 from now on.
