Hey Guys,

Thought I'd plug my new gear. Got a Creation Station 400 after my old one died. Sent Sweetwater all my software and my old Creation station and they did a reinstall and saved my hard drives. It's a rough road going from XP to Windows 7, and I had to end up upgrading all my software to get it to work right. But, wow, so far it's so fast. I can load and play 45+ patches in Finale without a hitch. Still trying to figure out Sonar X1, but so far so good.

Andy

How much did all of this cost you? The computer, and then separately - the cost of upgrading all of your software?

Hey Andy,

Cool... you must be having a lot of fun. A new computer system and all new software. Lots of new features to play with...

Did they set you up with Win 7 32-bit or 64-bit? And how much RAM?

The computer was around $1,800, and probably ended up around $2,500 with all the software upgrades and set up. I did end up with windows 64 bit, and with the software upgrades I haven't had any problems with the wrapper, though I need to load Sonar and see if I can max it out. Thw specs were 3.4GHz, Quad-core Rackmountable CPU with 8GB RAM, 1TB and 500GB Hard Drives, Windows 7, and Software Suite.

So much to learn. Am getting a seccond monitor today, and hoping I can move modules off to the side that get in the way. Have never worked with 2 monitors before.

Ah ha... yeah, that 64-bit and 8GB RAM is what's allowing you to load all those patches in Finale smoothly because the 64-bit gives you access to the additional 4GB RAM. Nice.

Yes, if you have multiple monitors, you can move separate windows off to different screens.
