Anyone here know about this item - is it any good? What would be the best thing to compare it to - and is that other thing better? What I like about this is the integration of the hardware controller and the software - and if I understand it correctly, it controls digital music files rather than CDs.

They are selling these now for around $299. Seems an incredible price.

Not sure about this one... never used it. There are a ton of DJ controllers on the market now. I've got a couple from Stanton, but haven't tried any of the others.

I let it go out to pasture. I've got so much gear already. I'm not sure I'd ever use it now. The idea was perhaps to try out some kind of experiment performance art with it - but I'd rather do that with a good audio/visual link - which Roland offers. Of course, can't say I'll get to that either now. I didn't like that this particular piece of gear had no mic input - seems crazy to leave that out of the design. If it had had that, I might have pull the trigger and bought it.
