| Tried and true. Split clip where you wish it to end and then delete the tail. save changes to project and render. |
Love to make that music,as well I love to tweak,Make my own sample sets |

During heavy editing when I've made a few to many edits I've caught Sonar flubbing some. I don't know if this was the case here. A clip envelope might have silenced the offending tail.
You might note that sonar will always default to non-destructive editing. This might mean that the clip will always retain that tail. A named defined clip, short and sweet might have to be destructively edited. No reason to do this as a simple adjustment to the clip window would silence the offending tail with a minor envelope to ease the end off. |

| You might have a duplicate clip hidden. If so an edit to the clip that shows won't affect the hidden clip. |

Harbor Freight? Whew, stinky. Wouldn't use those HF tools on any work that's potentially hazardous to your health Ed, LOL.
On topic though, aside from what was mentioned earlier about the original clip hiding underneath (which does happen from time to time), I've found that once in a while a clip can just simply become corrupt. And I'm not so sure it's the fault of Sonar as much as Windows. Windows has a penchant for enumerating things on it's own.
In a case like this I usually scrap the file altogether and start over with a new file and import new clips for looping. It may be a pain in the arse, but that's computing.
I've seen far worse happen in pro tools, and far greater disasters in a large studio on a stupid alesis adat pos crap dang thingy. Sorry, had to go there. I hate those things. Nothing like losing an entire days tracking to a pos alesis adat box, then having to wait 24-48 for a new one from your vendor. Some of you may have had similar experiences. IMHO, thank god for the humble home studio and guerilla recording. |
