It's too bad that PC's didn't just start out with things like USB 3 and terabyte drives with 32 meg of cache memory - and 8 gigs of system memory with a nice powerful OS with super-low latency audio drivers.

That would be nice but we can't start from the top... we have to work our way up in the technology race.

Besides, if started right now with the current gear, we never would have had great classic computers like the Commodore 64, Amiga, or Atari ST.

I still have my Atari ST system and it still works.
