Harrison Mixbus v4 Digital Audio Workstation Software

Harrison Consoles has announced the release of Mixbus v4, the latest generation of their "True Analog Mixing" workstation, featuring hundreds of new improvements, both big and small.

New User Interface
Mixbus's new and updated GUI answers user requests for better window management, and it allows the transport controls to appear above the mixer. The new "mini-timeline" allows fast and easy locating directly from atop the mixer window.

Toolbar Customization
The transport controls have been streamlined, and are configurable to hide and show the elements that are needed during the different stages of production: recording, arranging, editing, mixing and mastering. Visit Preferences->Appearance->Toolbar to turn the various sections on / off. You'll find a great opportunity for customization, while still remaining sensible and recognizable if you have to work on someone else's computer...

Though I haven't used my Mixbus v3, much, yet, I did upgrade to 4. I think it was only $39 and there are a number of new features.

It is impressive that you can hear the difference!

Not sure if I'll get the next version. v3 still works nicely, but we'll see. Yeah, I don't know what they do under the hood, but you can hear a difference.

When Sonar added "acid" style looping, I think someone told they'd licensed Acid to add that feature/option to it.

It would interesting to think that Cakewalk either,

1. figured out how to do that, too
or
2. licensed Harrison's "secret sauce" to have SPLAT "sound like that, too!"

One can dream..... or in my case spend $39 and learn to navigate Mixbus 4 as additional step to "oh my, that sounds really nice!".
