We have 6 PC's all but one are Windows 10 (7 on the ASUS notebook), but my wife's i7 4790k (just like mine see signature) is crashing and hanging up and last night none of her files would open or even appear.... like you can usually see pics on the photo folders..

it takes a long time to shut down, too. Last night she went through hours of trying to reinstate her file history.

Are any of you having issues? like maybe usb ports or hardware or whatever?!

Anyone?
Michael

No, nothing like that. Are you sure her PC isn't infected with a virus?

Thanks Scott

No, I don't actually know if it is or not .... or whether she's got to run a full system scan with Norton 360

Yeah, Michael... running a scan would be one of the first things I would do, just in case.

Thanks
She did the other night, but that didn't change a lot....
We have Norton 360 BTW

She's going to try running without the usb hardware- her scanner, and usb hub (very recent usb3 with it's own power, though I don't know what brand). Even trying with plugged in mouse and qwerty vs wifi Logictech

Her display is an NEC via HDMI, but she accesses her Sony and Canon cameras via the usb hub, so that's the next "exploration".

I'll post any progress.

Big Win7 fan here but a few days ago ordered a new lappy with Win10 from Newegg and hope I don't have any of these issues. Ordered one for my wife too, both are Acer Aspire series which I've always had great luck with.

We are snowed in up here and haven't even been able to get down off the mountain for 15 days now so I'm hoping the roads will be passable by the delivery date. Praying to the gods, Odin, Thor and Frey. LOL

Yeah, they definitely would have been better off just continuing work on Windows 7. They could have avoided all that bad Windows 8 press and kept everyone happy.

Call Thor to come down and clear you a path with his hammer... I would type out the name of the hammer, but I have no idea how to spell it.
