It's Fall and you know what that means. Any word on Sonar 7 yet? I was just at the Cakewalk site and have seen a few hints but not much more. The hints are in the form of when you go to purchase/download Dimension LE with GPO it says it will be included in Sonar 7. Same with a couple of other plugins. So far I have only been upgrading on the even numbers. But it's not a hard and fast rule.

Hmm... yeah, maybe I need to look into making the pages waterproof.

Well, hopefully, your book isn't covered in gravy either, which would make it kind of hard to read.

Hey Den,

Thank you too! Hopefully, the one thing that will be different between my book and a Thanksgiving turkey is that my book won't put you to sleep afterward.

Have fun digging in and using Sonar to make some great music!

I found a plain-brown-wrapped Amazon box from the UPS man on my desk. I opened it with much anticipation to find what I had hoped for, my copy of _Sonar 7 Power!_. I reflected how that moment was much like sitting before my Thanksgiving turkey not so very long before:

Like then, I appreciated the duality of the thing--something at once oven fresh and a years-long tradition.

Like then, I knew that what was sitting before me would be immediately satisfying but also too much to finish in a single sitting.

Like then, I knew that when the consumption was finally complete, the thing consumed would become part of me and the memory mine to enjoy a lifetime.

Like then, I thought it was only fitting that before I began, I would give thanks to the G-dude from whence all this goodness came. ...so, here you go: Thank you, Mr. Garrigus! ...now let's dig in!

Hi Den,

Thanks for letting me know! I'll have to see if they can switch that over on the Synth book page since that book is getting publicity from my new book, but I'm not getting any back.

Thanks, Scott and Strat,

I did decide to go for the Better Together bundle. The manual that ships with Dimension Pro isn't exactly a wealth of knowledge, and everything I've managed to learn about Cake synths so far comes from a combination of Scott's previous books and Larry's posts.

I did think it was interesting (if perhaps understandable) that if you're ordering Sonar 7 Power, it's better together with that synth book, but if you start out ordering the synth book, that's better together with Sonar 6 Power. : ) Then again, as I learned a long time ago in a quote from Borland, "Shipping is a feature!"

+1 on Cake Synths-from presets to power user

( and Scotts book too-enjoying my S6Power!)

Hey Den,

Don't know. Haven't read that book. That promotion is not my doing either. Amazon does their own promotions with those bundles.

Thanks for ordering my book though!

Hmmm. Just working on pre-ordering Sonar 7 Power and wondering if it really is "better together" with Cakewalk Synthesizers: From Presets to Power User by Simon Cann...

Hey Ratskins,

Sonar 7 Power should be out around the end of this month. I've put up a bunch of info in the Power Books section of my site:

Thanks!

Audiomidi.com is offering 10% off upgrades for Sonar right now. With free shipping, it's a great time to upgrade to Sonar 7!

Scott:
Thanks for tip about new topics. I'll bookmark it.
When is Sonar 7 Power coming out? Now that Cake doesn't supply a big manual it becomes even more necessary than ever to get your books. I've read quite a few of them cover to cover.

My bookmark to come to Digifreq is set for the New Topics, and to me, that's the way to go. So you don't even have to navigate anything with it set up like that. I just can click on the bookmark and immediately see if anything new is going on since I last looked. It's great.

Hey Ratskins,

Good to have you back... yep, I know all about being super busy, but of course, keeping up with DigiFreq is part of my job so it's a bit easier for me.

Regarding the forums here... one of the easiest things to do is visit the New Topics page (see the link in the navigation area at the top-right section of every page). The New Topics page will show all the new topics that have been posted since your last visit.

Scott:
Thanks for asking. Nice to be back.
I had a hard time adjusting to the new format of the forums, although it admittedly makes a lot more sense.
Plus, I have been completely out of my mind busy at work for years on end. That makes it difficult to find time to log in. In fact, I'm at work now!
Best wishes...ratskins
